For the past 16 years, our family has faithfully served in Cape Town, South Africa. During the last 12 of those years, we have been actively involved in church planting throughout the country. Our passion is to see healthy, life-giving churches established across South Africa, and especially in the city of Cape Town.
About five years ago, God began stirring our hearts with a specific vision to plant a church in Cape Town. Around that same time, Assemblies of God World Missions Africa launched an initiative called Urban Tribes. As Africa continues to urbanize at a rapid pace, this initiative focuses on strategically placing missionaries in growing urban centers to reach the influencers who are shaping culture and impacting future generations.
With a population of more than 5 million people, Cape Town is one of the most influential cities on the African continent. Known as the “Mother City,” it is a vibrant, multicultural hub where diverse ethnic groups, backgrounds, and experiences converge.
As the city continues to grow, we are witnessing the emergence of a new kind of community—people who are connected not primarily by ethnicity or language, but by shared values, interests, and life experiences. These are the urban tribes of today, and they represent a tremendous opportunity for the gospel.
Our desire is to see spiritual transformation take place throughout Cape Town by reaching these diverse communities and spheres of influence. We believe the local church is God’s primary instrument of hope and transformation for every city.
By God’s grace, we have been able to plant a life-giving, impactful church that reflects the rich diversity of Cape Town. Our vision is not simply to be a church in the city, but a church for the city—serving people, sharing hope, and making a lasting difference.
Together, we can impact Cape Town and help shape the future of South Africa through the power of the gospel.
Thank you for partnering with us and helping make this vision a reality.
